HOW WE CURATED

A THOUGHT-LEADING CONTENT PROGRAMME

LIVE EVENT CONTENT PRODUCTION

The DTG is the UK’s unique, self-funding centre for innovation in digital media technology. Since 1995, it has been central to the distribution of TV in the UK – digital TV, interactive TV, the digital TV switchover, on-demand TV, HDTV and UHD TV. The DTG underpins the free-to-air platforms Freeview, Freesat and YouView, and supports the development of pay-TV and other platforms.

Each year, the DTG hosts its annual event, the DTG Summit.

THE CHALLENGE

In 2022, as we transitioned post-COVID, we were tasked with elevating the DTG Summit by delivering high-level speakers and compelling content to address the industry's current challenges and stimulate meaningful discussion. 

We were briefed to create a day packed with inspiring sessions, offering actionable insights, thought-provoking trends, and practical takeaways to help our audience navigate the future of TV. 

Our objective was to create a memorable live experience, featuring engaging speakers, fresh content, and ample networking opportunities. 

Having produced the DTG Summit for the past three years, we are now gearing up for our fourth edition in 2025 and are looking to raise the bar even further.

THE SOLUTION

To deliver an exceptional content programme, we break our process down into key parts: 

Thorough research

Every year, we conduct in-depth research with industry leaders to uncover market trends and shape the Summit's key themes. In 2023, we elevated this process by introducing the DTG Summit Advisory Board, ensuring our content remains sharp, relevant, and aligned with industry needs.

Robust editorial

We craft a compelling programme, fine-tuning session formats and selecting on-point topics that resonate with our audience and stand out in the market. From panels to fireside chats, live podcasts, and presentations, we ensure the content is delivered in the most engaging way to connect with DTG members and keep them fully immersed.

High-profile speaker acquisition

By leveraging our strong industry connections, we secure high-calibre speakers—including ministers, industry leaders, and inspiring voices from outside the sector—creating a dynamic and diverse lineup.

Seamless speaker and sponsor management

Our team ensures a seamless, engaging experience, both before and during the event, leaving a lasting impression on all stakeholders including speakers, sponsors and the audience.

Engaging content marketing

We produce concise, social-ready interviews with speakers to generate engaging content and build anticipation ahead of the event. This strategy amplifies awareness and creates buzz across digital platforms, keeping the Summit stays top of mind for our target audience.

THE RESULTS

  • An impressive 30% year-on-year growth from 2023 to 2024.

  • Converted 84% of registered delegates into attendees, showcasing strong engagement

  • 96% of delegates rated the event as ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’

  • 100% of participants would recommend the event to their contacts and colleagues

  • Over the past three years, the DTG Summit has significantly elevated DTG’s profile among both members and non-members
